ENG vs NZ : During the ongoing second test between New Zealand and England, wicket-keeper batsman Ben Foakes fell victim to a hilarious stumping dismissal that left him helpless on the pitch.
The incident occurred when Foakes, facing just his fifth ball, attempted to dance down the track against New Zealand off-spinner Michael Bracewell. However, he tripped and fell flat outside the batting crease, becoming a victim of a bizarre stumping dismissal at the hands of Tom Blundell.
The ENG team was in a strong position with 362 runs on the board, and Foakes, who walked in at number seven, presumably intended to score some quick runs and help England dominate the Black Caps further. However, his bid to go big resulted in a comical dismissal that left him with a helpless look on his face.
On just his fifth ball, Ben Foakes, the ENG wicket-keeper batsman, attempted to dance down the track against New Zealand off-spinner Michael Bracewell in an effort to score big. Unfortunately, he tripped and fell flat outside the batting crease, resulting in a hilarious stumping dismissal at the hands of Tom Blundell.
Foakes lost all of his momentum and his right shoe spike got stuck in the turf, causing him to fall and lose his wicket. With a helpless look on his face, he watched the stumps being broken, and it was clear that his heart sank as well.

The on-air commentator described the incident as Foakes getting into a “heck of a tangle,” with his front spike getting stuck in the pitch due to the amount of grass on the surface.
Ironically, just before the second test, Foakes had talked about how it was alright to get out in weird ways while trying to attack, as part of the carefree brand of cricket the Three Lions have adopted under the leadership of Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes.
While Foakes’ statement was meant to compliment the team’s approach, it turned out to be somewhat ironic, given his hilarious dismissal. Perhaps Foakes is better suited to playing BazFall, an upgraded version of the club cricket game BazBall that he referred to in his earlier comments.
In conclusion, while Foakes’ dismissal was certainly an amusing moment in the game, it serves as a reminder of the importance of staying focused and maintaining one’s balance when attempting to take on the opposition’s bowling attack.
