The recent injury of Dominic Drakes during an ILT20 match has been the talk of the town in the world of cricket. The promising young player was taken to the hospital after a nasty collision with a fellow teammate, leaving fans and players alike praying for his quick recovery.
West Indies all-rounder Dominic Drakes suffered a serious injury during the International League T20 match between Gulf Giants and Sharjah Warriors on 6 February.
Dominic Drakes, who is playing for the Gulf Giants in the ILT20, was taken to the hospital as he appeared to be in severe pain after taking the catch.

On 6 February, the Gulf Giants faced the Sharjah Warriors at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Barbadian cricketer Dominic Drax, who attempted an incredible diving catch, managed to take the catch, but fell flat on his face and injured himself in the process.

During the sixth over of the Sharjah Warriors innings, Carlos Brathwaite bowled a short delivery to Moeen Ali, who attempted a pull shot but could not time it. Drakes came running towards the ball and dived in front of it to take the catch. His hands were trapped between his chest and the ground as he buried his face in the turf.
While Drax made sure to keep the catch, he appeared to be in some serious pain after completing it. Physio was called soon after the horrific incident and Drakes was taken off the field on a stretcher. He was then taken to the hospital on a stretcher in an ambulance.
Shortly after the horrific accident, his teammate Qais Ahmed was seen on the ground praying for Drax’s safety. Qais Ahmed’s heartwarming style was appreciated by cricket fans across the world.

Coming to the game, Sharjah Warriors were bundled out for just 107 runs as their innings lacked pace and wickets kept falling at regular intervals. David Wiese bowled brilliantly in which he gave only 20 runs in four overs.
Colin de Grandhomme’s 35 helped the Gulf Giants’ batsmen comfortably chase down Sharjah Warriors’ total in 16.3 overs, while skipper James Vince also scored a crucial 27. Junaid Siddiqui took two wickets but could not stop the Gulf giants from chasing down the target.
