Australia’s ace fast bowler, Mitchell Starc, demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his team during the ongoing third Test against India, despite enduring a blow to his finger. The two cricketing powerhouses are battling it out in the third of the four-match Test series at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.
Australia’s innings ended with a lead of 88 runs after losing six wickets for just 11 runs in mere 34 balls, concluding with a total of 197 runs on the board. During India’s second innings, skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got off to a good start.
However, during the first over of India’s second innings, the Australian pacer, Mitchell Starc, was seen bleeding from his finger. Despite the blow to his index finger, the fast bowler continued to bowl, demonstrating his commitment to his team’s cause. Notably, Starc had already injured his finger in a fielding mishap in December 2022, which had resulted in a snapped tendon.
Meanwhile, R Ashwin and Umesh Yadav’s remarkable performance in Australia’s first innings led to a stunning turnaround, as the duo claimed three wickets each. The Aussies will be eager to limit the rival side to a meager total as India takes the field to set up a target.

After securing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series, Rohit Sharma and his team are just one win away from securing their place in the summit clash of the ICC World Test Championship. Meanwhile, Australia’s impressive dominance in Test cricket came to a screeching halt after suffering back-to-back defeats at the hands of the Indian side.
Despite the consecutive losses, Australia can still make it to the finals of the global ICC event by winning or drawing in either of the last two Tests. The ongoing Test started off well for the Aussies, but it remains to be seen if they will be able to secure a favorable result.
