Check : Prithvi Shaw reacts after Instagram story goes viral with ‘Wifey’ caption on Valentine’s Day

An alleged Instagram story of Prithvi Shaw on Valentine’s Day went viral on Twitter. The opener called it “edited”.

Indian opener Prithvi Shaw became the talk of the town on social media after a post went viral on Valentines Day. Several fans shared screenshots of an Instagram story, suggesting it was from Shaw’s account. The headline of the story reads: “Happy Valentine my wifey”. Fans claimed that Shaw deleted the post immediately, but apparently some people took screenshots in time and shared them on social media. However, now this opener has issued a clarification and termed this picture as ‘edited’.

Shaw advised that he did not post any photos on Instagram as a post or story. He further said that someone has edited the picture which is going viral on social media. He urged his fans to ignore whatever is being spread on social media.

In another Instagram story, Shaw wrote: “Someone editing my pics and showing stuff that I haven’t put on my story or on my page. So ignore all the tags and msges thx.”

As claimed by Shaw, the girl tagged in the “edited” photo is Nidhi Ravi Tapadia.

Earlier, Prithvi Shaw had created quite a stir on social media for repeatedly denying him a chance in the Indian team. Although he made it into India’s squad for the T20Is against New Zealand, the opener did not feature in any of the three matches.

However, Shaw himself admitted that he did not expect to be recalled.

“It has been a tough journey these 18 months. I have people who have supported me throughout my career, who have stood by me through this phase and supported me even when I was not playing for India ” Rahul sir (Dravid) and Paras sir. (Bowling coach Gal Paras Mehmbare) has been with me since I was 16. Good to know that they are doing so well now.

Shaw has been doing very well in the domestic circuit in the last two years. He scored 332 runs at a strike rate of 181.42 with a top score of 134 against Assam in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, finishing second in the list of highest run-getters in the tournament last year.
