Rutoraj Gaikwad hit 7 consecutive sixes in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Maharashtra opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was at his best in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final against Uttar Pradesh and his unbeaten knock of 220 helped them post 330 runs on the board in the allotted fifty overs. However, the best part of his innings came in the last over of the innings when he scored 43 off Shiva Singh. Ruturaj Gaikwad hit seven consecutive sixes in this over.
The fifth ball of the over turned out to be a no ball and the free hit also went missing for a six and hence 43 runs from the over was unimaginable.
After hitting Shiva Singh for 42 runs in an over, Rituraj holds the record for the most runs scored in an over in the history of List-A cricket.
Gaikwad is the first player to hit seven sixes in an over in List-A cricket, against Uttar Pradesh.

He also holds Rohit Sharma’s record for most sixes (16) in a List-A innings in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Ruturaj Gaikwad played an inning of 220 runs in just 159 balls with the help of 10 fours and 16 sixes. With the good strike rate of 138.36.
Apart from Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankit Bawne and Azim Kazi also played useful innings of 37-37.Karthik Tyagi took three wickets for Uttar Pradesh.
