Following the incident, based on video footage, the ICC fined Warner 75% of his match fee and awarded 3 demerit points. While de Kock was fined 25% of his match fee and given 1 demerit point.
On 9 June 2013, hours after Australia lost an ICC Champions Trophy match at Edgbaston, Warner attacked England’s Joe Root in the early evening hours at a Walkout bar in Birmingham.
