The four-match Test series has been a thrilling affair, with both teams displaying remarkable cricketing skills. As the fourth day’s play is underway, India is batting on a score of 400 with five wickets in hand, in response to Australia’s first innings total of 480.

Indian opener Shubman Gill expressed his satisfaction after scoring a century on Day 3, saying, “It feels great to score a hundred here. This is my IPL home ground, and I am glad to get some runs here. The pitch was pretty good to bat on. They (Australia) were not attacking that much. We are (currently) three down for almost 300. We would look to get a big score on day 4. Who knows the wicket might help our bowlers on day 5.”

However, during Sunday’s first session, non-striker KS Bharat denied an easy single after Virat Kohli pushed a ball to the mid-wicket region. Kohli appeared furious with Bharat after the error, and the incident could have resulted in either player’s dismissal. Fortunately, Kohli returned safely to the crease, avoiding a possible run-out.

Kohli went on to complete his hundred, and he is still unbeaten, playing a vital role in India’s quest to take the lead in the first innings. The Indian skipper’s last Test century was in 2019, and he would now want to convert this into a double hundred.
