WPL IPL 2023 Auction – RCB bought Smriti Mandhana for Rs 3.4 crore
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday bought the services of star opener Smriti Mandhana for Rs 3.4 crore in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 auction in Mumbai here. The opening batsman had bid Rs 50 lakh on his base price. RCB and Mumbai Indians (MI) were in a fierce battle for the memory with RCB finally securing the services of the southpaw batsman.
One of the best female cricketers who draws a certain crowd with willow as much as she does with her looks, Smriti Madhana never tries to overhit the ball. Instead, she just moves her body forward and coaxes the ball while maintaining her shape.
The southpaw is known for producing brilliant strokes, which is a testament to his character and style. He is one of the top batsmen in the world because of his ability to play both pace and spin. At the same time, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur was bought by Mumbai Indians for 1.8 crores. Mumbai left no stone unturned to bid for the Indian skipper.
When RCB opened the bidding, Delhi Capitals got involved in a fierce bidding war against RCB Capitals as it raised the pedal and raised the bid to Rs 1.10 crore. In the end, Mumbai hired the Indian captain. Harmanpreet is perhaps the most dangerous batsman in women’s cricket, thanks to her natural bat pace and power. Opponents can predict destruction only when he is at his best.

When the current Indian skipper gets set, she will scoop, flick on leg and sweep the pacers. Hardeep is hard to stop even for the best bowling attack in the women’s game. A total of 1,525 players registered for the inaugural WPL auction and 409 players were shortlisted.
The inaugural edition of the WPL will be played from March 4 to 26 across two venues in Mumbai and the player auction for this will take place on February 13.
